Rangers Football Club

Rangers Football Club is a leading Scottish soccer club in Glasgow. Soccer is called football in Scotland and mnay other countries. The Rangers compete in the Premier League, Scotland's top soccer league. The club plays its home games in Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow. The Rangers and the Celtic football Club in Glascow have dominated Scottish soccer for more than 100 years. During that period, the two clubs have devloped one of the most intense rivaliers in European soccer. In domestic competition, the Rangers have won more Scottish League and championship Cups tha nay other Scottish Club. From 1987 to 2003, the Rangers won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1972. Many top British stars have played for he rangers, including midfeilder and manager Graeme Souness, forward Ally McCoist, and midfielder Jim Baxter of Scotland; and midfielder Paul Gascoigne of England. The Rangers were established in 1873.
